A permit to work is a form of written permission to conduct activities that may be restricted by Electricity Safety (General) Regulations 2019 (Vic) or exceed our general guidance.
We provide safety assessments and permits to work for free. We will assess and advise whether a spotter and/or permit to work is required for your specific property, vehicles, equipment and operations.
For example, if your equipment is over three metres, we will:
- conduct a safety assessment for your property and operations
- advise whether a spotter or permit to work is required
- work with you to help manage clearance concerns and support safe operations
- give you necessary documentation and clear instructions.
We can also help you establish longer-term permissions and work practices tailored to your individual needs and land use.
To request a safety assessment or apply for a permit to work email ptw@ausnetservices.com.au or call 1300 360 795. For more information about working safely with overhead powerlines, visit the Energy Safe website and the WorkSafe Victoria website.
