Starting out right
It’s crucial that you correctly sell, install and configure solar systems to ensure customers get the most from their investment. This also ensures the safety and reliability of the grid.
It’s your responsibility to sell and configure a compliant solar system. This means:
- getting pre-approval before you start an installation
- installing an AusNet-approved inverter
- connecting the inverter to the internet (preferably an ethernet connection)
- correctly configuring the inverter settings
- commissioning the system at post-installation so it’s compliant, see Solar emergency backstop commissioning check list (PDF, 155KB).
- showing the customer how to maintain their solar system’s internet connection, for more information download our solar customer fact sheet (PDF, 309KB).
For solar connections up to 1.5MW, submit your pre-approval application through our customer portal. The portal allows you to register an account, create applications, track the progress of a project, submit enquiries and make payments all in one place.
