Overview
The microgrid, which is forecast to be completed by early 2026, will power Corryong homes, businesses and community facilities during a power outage.
What is a microgrid?
A microgrid is a self-contained energy network that allows real-time, local energy generation and usage within a specific area. During an outage, the microgrid can disconnect from the main electricity grid and continue supplying power to the town using a battery and generator. Additionally, properties with solar panels provide extra local generation to reduce demand on the main battery and generator.
