AusNet Services has been contracted by Tilt Renewables to build, own and operate approximately 38km of new transmission line, a new substation and a 500kV connection to the existing Mortlake Terminal Station. Read our Media Release.
The Dundonnell Wind Farm project is located approximately 23km north-east of Mortlake, in the Western District of Victoria, Australia. The inspiration for the project came from a group of local land holders who were keen to host a wind farm on their properties.
The Dundonnell Wind Farm is being developed by Tilt Renewables, who successfully gained the project’s inclusion in the Victorian Government's Renewable Energy Auction Scheme. The project has obtained all planning and environmental approvals having undertaken long running flora, fauna heritage and other environmental assessments which commenced in 2009.
Once operational the wind farm will include 80 wind turbines and will produce 336MW of electricity - enough clean energy to power approximately 245,000 homes and save emissions of roughly 1.3 million tonnes of carbon each year.
Tilt Renewables is a significant and established owner, operator and developer of renewable energy assets, with an operating portfolio of 636 MW of assets located in high wind resource regions, with the 54 MW Salt Creek Wind Farm successfully commissioned in July 2018.
Tilt Renewables has a development pipeline of more than 3500 MW of wind and solar projects across Australia and NZ.
