Prolonged Power Outage Payment

 
Prolonged Power Outage for Residential:
 
Financial relief is available for residential customers affected by the prolonged power outages following the storm event on Fri 29th Oct 2021. The Victorian and Australian Governments have made funding available from the Disaster Recovery Fund, and we are supporting the roll-out of payments to customers. The Prolonged Power Outage Payment is $1680 per week for up to three weeks.

 Applications must be submitted before 11:59 pm Friday, 3 December 2021.   

 
To be eligible for the Prolonged Power Outage Payment customers must:
Have a residential electricity account 
Electricity Account Holder at a property that was without power as at 12.01am Fri, 5 Nov 2021, due to the Fri 29 October 2021 severe weather event in Victoria.
Not received a prolonged power outage payment for the same electricity account (NMI) following storm event 29 October, 2021.

Once eligibility is confirmed it will take 3-5 business days for payments to be made. Please note, once your eligibility is confirmed, you will not be required to reapply for each week you are still without power.

The Applicant will notify Ausnet of any changes to this information and any circumstances that may affect this application.
This application for a Prolonged Power Outage Payment may be rejected or cancelled, or if payment has already been made, reimbursement may be sought from the Applicant.
The Applicant has not received a prolonged power outage payment for the electricity account (NMI) nominated in this application.
