AusNet Services partners with Foodbank Victoria

AusNet Services is pleased to announce as part of its sustainability and social impact strategy a new community partnership with Victoria’s largest food relief charity, Foodbank Victoria.

United as companies that provide an essential service to the people of Victoria, this partnership will enable AusNet Services the opportunity to give back to the community by supporting Foodbank Victoria on fundraising initiatives and events as well as working together on the frontline during bushfires and storms.

Foodbank Victoria are a trusted and well-known community partner who make a real difference in the lives of Victorians each and every day. Foodbank’s recent study The Hunger Report highlights the very real problem that food poverty impacts one in six Victorians. It’s important to AusNet Services to support the community it serves, making this partnership an important way to help address this critical issue among the community.

AusNet Services Executive General Manager People, Sustainability and Transformation, Jo McConnell, said the new partnership represented an example of AusNet Service’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities in which it operates.

“I am so proud of AusNet’s Social Impact partnership with Foodbank. Our partnership brings together two organisations who are passionate about delivering essential services to our communities. Both of our organisations have always been there for our customers and communities in times of storms, fires and floods and we’re immensely proud to continue to be there as a team to support our communities with essential services through good times and bad,” said Ms McConnell.

For Foodbank Victoria CEO Dave McNamara, it is important partnerships like this one that ensure Foodbank can continue to deliver on their ever-growing food programs. “AusNet understand the importance of reaching Victorians in all corners of the state when they need us most. Partnering with AusNet helps us support Victorians as the fridge and pantry for more than 530 charities, as well as ongoing projects like our International Student Pop-Up Store and Mobile Supermarkets. We are incredibly grateful for their support and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Jo and the team”.
